Linux really missed this opportunity. If there would be a good distro with top user experience, GUI configuration tools, no bugs, ready to be used without much hassle, then I could imagine many many many millions users would jump to Linux desktop. Missed opportunity.

Only Linux that worked on my Pentium III laptop is PLOP linux. I use it as a print server.

Linux is fine when you only use browser and Libreoffice, and maybe printing if you have a supported printer. But the moment you need Samba, network browsing, some uncommon configuration beyound what UI configuration tool supports, etc ... Then you realise why Linux is still not desktop-ready in...

Only thing I am worried : AMD drivers, compatibility with old games, new games, crashing, etc .... Hardware looks good, but what about the software side.

That would be awesome ! I still have a 3.5 and 5.25 combo IDE floppy drive in my basement. Exactly like this one : combo floppy drive So no problem here.
