I'm no expert on CPU pins, but I recently upgraded my CPU, RAM, and Mobo. I kept my old drives, and it booted right up first try. So I wouldn't stress out about your files or booting with a new CPU. It should boot right up. And I had some weird non-licensed version of Windows at the time.

Not sure what your problem could be without more information, but laptops NEED to be plugged in for performance, they'll throttle themselves on battery power. If you could give temperatures while at idle and during gameplay, that will help people know more about your situation.

Sounds like a power issue. Does it do this on battery power and when plugged in? What is the model of your laptop?

It's a HIVE-750. I bought someone's self-build a while ago, and just upgraded things as time went on, but this PSU was in the original build. Yes, I put the 1050 Ti back in and it works perfectly again. I've never experienced any random power cycles or shutoffs.
