Stephen Elop Would Kill Bing, Sell Xbox if CEO of Microsoft

I'm no business expert and I don't know where tech economics are heading. But if I were to become the next MS CEO, I'd start looking at what the other two giants are doing. Google developed its own desktop OS (Chrome) and mobile OS (Android) and is offering both for free. Apple also has its...

Android Tops 81 Percent of the Smartphone Market

I just got my first smartphone 2 weeks ago. Decided on the iphone 5C. I gotta say I'm perfectly happy with it so far. The new ios 7 looks really nice, runs smoothly and is very functional. I bought mine online so I didn't know how the phone felt, but it's surprisingly well built despite it being...

AMD's Mantle API Gives Devs Direct Hardware Control

As much as I like AMD and how they're able to innovate and chug along despite being totally dwarfed by intel, I think this mantle api is not the right way to go. I know it's business and giving yourself the advantage by providing the best tools available to developers in smart on the short term...

Valve CEO Game Newell Teases Linux Steam Boxes

I'm really excited about this. I've always said that Linux would make an excellent platform for gaming and to see a company like Valve push this is fantastic. I think a lot of the skeptics about linux probably think of nexuiz or xonotic as the popular games on this platform and since those games...

Dell Goes Private As Shareholders Approve $25 Billion Deal

My hope is this will allow dell to revamp it's products. Instead of delivering products based on the bottom line, they can actually develop stuff that's a bit higher quality. Not to say there isn't a place for budget systems, but some premium offerings would be nice as well where quality is put...

Report: AMD Readying FX-8770 and FX-9000 CPUs

Why don't they just put out a piledriver refresh instead of these glorified space heaters? They're already doing that with their richland APUs. Basically those clock around 200Mhz higher in the same thermal envelope as trinity so obviously they've done some tweaking with piledriver. Besides...

AMD Unveils its Heterogeneous Uniform Memory Access (hUMA) Technology

As usual, AMD is ahead of the curve in terms of ideas. This is trully a good leap of progress and will set the tone for HPC computing for the next decade. However, they are usually behind the curve in terms of implementing their awesome ideas. AMD get this stuff to market as soon as possible!!!

Web Browser Grand Prix: Chrome 25, Firefox 19, And IE10

It would have been nice to see some results with opera's HWA turned on. I can understand why you wouldn't count those results towards the final score since you are looking a stock browser configs. But the numbers make opera look so bad because there is no HWA by default. However, going into...
