I know right? They are quite the handful :)
It's not about dissuading or not, thing is if you put it in perspective, the only way to pull it off the way i want it (all things enclosed) would be with extremely heavy case modding. Plus Ivy bridge is known for the steep climbs in temps when...
Didn't think about that tight bend, thank you for the input manfochalk! :)
i was thinking about this for tubing

correct me if i'm wrong but that seems pretty standard (methinks 1/2 OD...
Hello guys,
It's been a while since I built my pc (2 years) and decided to take the leap into liquid cooling!
It has been an on-off thing for a while (reading stickies, build logs, etc) but i finally got the courage to do it.
so far here is what i have planned out as far as general layout (case...
Thanks for the answer!
I was thinking of getting him this motherboard instead
MSI z77 g41 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130653
coz of the extra 2 ram slots so he can upgrade to 16RAM in the future also im kinda noob so don't know if the micro ATX will fit the case...
So i'm building a gaming pc for a friend and he's on kind of a tight budget (~630 USD). So here goes basic info:
Approximate Purchase Date: This week
Budget Range: ~630 USD
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Ocassional CAD/CAM modelling
Are you buying a monitor: NO
Parts...
SOOOO the buzz returned but is barely audible and rarely happens (even under load, had prime 95 and 3dmark w/o a single buzz) so it has something to do with the VRM of the PSU. So i'd say that it's 'kinda' solved as long as it doesn't burst into flames...
got an e-mail from PCP&C and...
^This
if you don't get LP RAM ur gonna have a baad time
the CPU cooler IS necessary to overclock since IB tends to get kinda hot
i'd rather put some extra money for the video card instead of buying an ssd since i don't think you'd benefit as much
I'm unsure about the PSU but in your range i'd...
you are forgetting the aftermarket cpu cooler. An unlocked cpu without it is kind of pointless. Hyper 212 EVO will hold up fine for decent overclocking with IB
I would drop the MOBO to an Asus p8z77-v pro
100 Mhz aren't worth $100 so i would drop the 680 to a 670 and upgrade with the 140 bucks...
Browsing through the forums I found someone for whom turning the pc power settings to high performance made the problem go away. I tried it myself and strangely enough it hasn't made a single buzzing sound in an hour or so in circumstances where it would normally do. Will update if it reappears...
Taking a look inside whit a light I don't seem so be able to take a good look to the PSU fan. It is an 80+ silver PSU rated on tier 2 on eggxpert :(
Looking through videos on youtube from whining components i can't find anything that sounds like my PSU, it does more of a low buzz rather than a...
every once in a while (once every minute or so) i hear a buzzing sound coming from my computer
So i buuilt my first comp about two weeks ago. It works fine (no error messages, CPU temps are normal under load) however about two days into using it it started making a weir buzzing sound every once...
