Same here, running mine through a 7.1 channel Onkyo system via digital optical connection. Sounds excellent with iTunes and stuff, will even playback DVDs in Dolby Digital EX 7.1.
Don't neglect the case either. A quality liquid cooling setup with a good case will match about anything else out there. Combination of good airflow and efficient liquid cooling will be hard to beat.
Are you looking for a computer set of speakers or a Home Theater system that you can use for your computer? I think g-paw is referring to the Home theater setup, thats what I run, and works great. Have an Onkyo system 7.1 channels that I can use for my computer, dvd player, TV ect. More...
I agree with cnumartyr, the TEC's are a waste of wattage in your system, definitely not worth it as far as efficiency is concerned. I think the Phase Change is an option, but only if you're willing go that route.
Still feel a solid liquid cooling system would do the best job. Something...
A CPU is very easy to replace, aslong as the sockets match. Definitely take the advice geofelt offered about the PSU into consideration. Don't just buy the cheapest 650w PSU you can get your hands on. I've had good luck with the Thermaltake Toughpower series and Silverstone PSU's.
^^Yup. Confusing, but they're just cool like that. I think water cooling is going to be the best option for the Pheonom. Most consistent way to get a solid overclock if set up properly.
A fan, thats oldschool. Ha but yes, that is the north bridge. Most now have fanless cooling as the others indicated, usually with some type of heat pipe.
I'd stick with the nvidia card, therefore, the 7600GT that you have listed. If possible, I'd get something in the 8 series due to DX10 being out now..
As far as the power supplies, stick with Rosewill. Much better brand.
