24-inch, Dell FreeSync monitor drops to just $99

digitalgriffin is correct. As of at least March 7 2024, to gain FreeSync certification, a gaming monitor with an under-4K resolution needs to have a 144Hz refresh rate. So they seem to simply be dumping old (edit: models of) monitors that can no longer be branded as FreeSync (edit: for new sales)

Corsair's RM750x Shift PSU with side-mounted power cables is down to $89, its lowest-ever price

Interesting, thanks for the heads-up! Do most or any of the included cables have 90-degree plugs to provide more clearance? As well, you likely want to remove the word “don’t” from the following sentence for it to make sense: “Note that you probably don't want to stick to GPUs in the RTX 4070...

Question Is it worth upgrading my system to a 13th gen Intel CPU or should I wait until 14th gen comes out ?

Nobody knows when the new Intel line will arrive - could be a matter of days, could be 5 months. You’re going to love the upgrade regardless, whether you choose to wait or not. I’d go with the DeepCool LT720 360mm if you’re thinking about an AIO, it’s been great so far. On the GPU side, I’d...

    Question DVI to USB-C adapter?

The packaged cables in your link include a Mini-HDMI cable so your best bet is to go from DVI to Mini-HDMI. 1 x Mini-HDMI to HDMI Cable (for video only) Your DVI to HDMI adapter needs to be male on the DVI side, not female like the link you posted. (Assuming that your server’s graphics card...

Question Front panel power button connector broke, wondering if this is fine ?

You can also use an external power button (wired or wireless) that connects to your mobo if it stops working. The SilverStone ES02-USB is a wireless one that gets good reviews. Search for “external PC power switch button” to find more.

Question 5V or 12V - can I plug AIO RGB into fan hub?

In case you don’t want Armoury Crate installed (because of all the extra cruft and services it installs running all the time) then OpenRGB should work with your mobo. Works with my ASUS mobo to control RGB on my AIO. For reference, Aorus is a Gigabyte brand. Either way, glad things are working...

Build Advice Help for 1st time builder ?

I recently picked up and am enjoying the same ASUS TUF 4070 OC 12GB for my first build, though I haven’t pushed it much yet. The only time I see the fans actually spin at all is when I run PUBG. Tiny bit of coil whine when pushed, but if it’s not next to your head with the case open you...

Review DeepCool LT720 AIO Review: The Best Yet at Cooling the 13900K

Got one on sale for my first PC build and I’m very happy with it. Quick and easy install on an i9-13900k with a Thermalright contact frame and haven’t heard the fans once, although I’ve only been gaming so far and haven’t pushed the CPU much for big renders and such. Also works with OpenRGB...

Question Monitor does not work when using DVI-D cable ?

Trying a fresh (known good) cable would be a good troubleshooting step. You’ve tried a bunch of other good troubleshooting ideas already, (factory reset monitor, set manual detection, even GPU drivers) so it’s probably a good idea to test another cable. Good luck!

Discussion PSU recommendations and power supply discussion thread - Tom's hardware

I learned (and am still learning) so much from this thread, had no idea how little I knew about PSUs. Thank you to everyone who posted and especially Darkbreeze for starting it and answering so many questions. That said, is the Corsair RMX RM850x (80 plus gold) a decent enough PSU? (I know in...
