Trying to revive a Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 - Help needed

No replies so far, so I`m getting a bit worried here. Since nothing else worked for me, can anyone provide me with a tutorial on how to reflow (bake) a full ATX motherboard in a home oven? I don`t have a heat gun, so that`s out of the question. Of course, I have no idea if it`s actually a bad...

Trying to revive a Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 - Help needed

Hello everyone, Long time since I was it these parts of the woods due to work and life in general, but I need your help again. So let me jump into it: I recently upgraded my build a bit, from an i5 4670k to i7 4790k, and R9 380 to GTX 1080 (forced by cryptomining, no RX580 available after I...

Upgrading from gt 555m (asus n55sf laptop)

I don`t like to resurrect dead topics, but just in case anyone stumbles here, I want to mention that the GPU on this laptop is not soldered in. I actually took it apart from the laptop last night while replacing the TIM.

    I7 3770 or I7 4790?

Based on the interwebs you should get about 5-10% improvement from the 3770 to the 4790. If this improvement in performance is worth a new mobo and probably a more expensive CPU, it`s your choice to make.

    Help to finalize PC components...

Really nice build you have there! On the GPU part, the SLI 970`s give much better performance than the 980. However, if you plan to add another GTX 980 later on, then that`s the way to go. Regarding the PSU "brick", make sure you use this for a good choice. Anything in Tier 1 and 2 are a safe...

What is the USB 3.0 SATA SSD 2.5-inch Enclosure or a USB3 caddy?

When buying the SSD, usually it comes by itself, and you have to buy the enclosure saparately. Regarding the Kingston V300 and the 850 EVO, the Samsung is the winner by quite a margin. Even if I have a V300 myself, the recent models have bad reviews.

What is the USB 3.0 SATA SSD 2.5-inch Enclosure or a USB3 caddy?

The enclosure is designed for 2.5" drives as mentioned in the title. If you want specifics, this is from the description of the product: NOTE: Interior Dimension 101 x 70 x 10 mm (Thicker Older models might not fit)

Is this a good laptop to buy ?! What games i can play on it if i bought it ?

You will not be able to do any real gaming on that laptop. At least try to find something with a dedicated GPU.

What is the USB 3.0 SATA SSD 2.5-inch Enclosure or a USB3 caddy?

There is no HDD/SSD in that picture. I think you mistakenly confuse the SATA III connecter that is shown in the 3`rd picture with HDD/SSD. That thing is the connecter of the enclosure that connects TO the HDD/SSD that will go inside it.

    Lookin for a graphic card

Check this out: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/gta_v_pc_graphics_performance_review,5.html I`m sorry, but there`s nothing cheaper than a 750 TI that will run it, and I think all of the other cards will not run on a 220W PSU. If you can`t get a 750 ti, let alone upgrade your PSU and get a...

Help! Can't find a compatible mobo

I`m sorry, but I don`t actually understand the problem... Are the SATA ports too high and they touch the card? Or are they facing up from the mobo, and the cables bump into the card? I also have a MicroATX mobo, and a 31cm GPU that covers the SATA ports. However, my SATA cables go behind the...
