I wanted to connect this 144Hz monitor to a computer but I've heard that you need a DisplayPort or DVI to use the high refresh rate. My laptop only has an HDMI and a mini HDMI port. Is there anything I can do about this?

So I recently bought an ASUS VG248QE monitor that's supposed to support 144Hz. However, I have been using an HDMI cable and haven't been able to get above about 87Hz using Intel's graphic settings. I am wondering if I can even get 144Hz/120Hz at all with my current setup. I use the Dell Inspiron...
