There are thicker fans like the one COLGeek linked but they're not specifically made for desktop use so they come with louder motors, I think if a quality pc fan manufacturer made 50mm thick fans they would be better than the 25mm fans.

You only need to connect it to the motherboard header if you want to know the rpm, it should plug in ok to 4 pin headers as well.

Your gpu/cpu temps sound good. I think heat is just getting trapped under your desk after a while but I wouldn't worry cause your gpu/cpu temps show there's no problem.

Just get a molex powered fan hub for 3pin fans and run them at 5v.

That fan you linked is pwm so it will run the same speed as your pst fan as long as your pst fan is controlled by pwm. It would only run 100% if you plugged a 3 pin non pwm fan into a pst pwm controlled fan.

Definitely intake only, and if you have 2 front intake fans aswell you could turn the bottom 2 fans off when the gpu isn't doing anything.

Pure Rock 2 will also fit, don't think it's as good as the above coolers though it's much lighter.

Add 2-3 front intake fans, that will fix those horrible temps.

I like the look of that Coolman Robin 2 case btw, I think having the front intakes mounted to the backside should be quieter than normal front mount fans facing your ears. Not sure it needs the botton 3 fans or the top 3, I rear exhaust and maybe one top exaust would be better/same.

Dust filters with positive pressure is best. You only need a single rear exhaust and maybe a single top exhaust.

Looks good for airflow if you put some more fans in the front/top.

You could have the 3 intakes shut down on idle and just have the exhaust fan spin. I only have a single exhaust and it shuts down below 39c.

Look at the snowman cooler, slightly better and quieter than the 212 for cooling and cheaper...
