Actually, even shipping an upgrade as a surprise could be a problem, as your system might not be able to use it. They should ship the correct item or offer a refund. If they ship anything else, then it should be considered an additional freebie.

Hard to say which would be quieter, but I have the Silent Base 800. It's pretty quiet, except at the top and because I have a Corsair Hydro h100i v2, the fans that came with it sound like jet engines. I only recently replaced those fans with 2 Noctua NF-F12 PWMs and it's a lot quieter now...

This may be an old thread, but for those still having issues with this, try uninstalling your network drivers and having the system reinstall them. This can clear things out a bit and make a big difference.

The cheapest way to cool your machine right now is to pull the side panel off and/or clean out the filters (assuming you have any on your chassis). Run your games like that for a bit and see if that makes a difference...but only do it after the machine has been off for a bit to get a good test.

Interesting. From what I read about that, this offers the quality of 4X MSAA at the performance cost of 2X MSAA. Thus, you'll see better fidelity at increased performance...at which point it makes me wonder why you would ever want 4X MSAA, if this is better. You may also have been...

I assume you're on a Windows machine? Have you tried a driver update? Since it's USB, your only other option is to right click on the volume icon on the lower right and go to recording devices. See what options you have and tweak from there. You might also consider going to playback...

The only other suggestion I have is that maybe your power supply is wack and isn't giving full power all the time, but that's not likely the issue here.

It may be more appropriate to look for a solution in this case, than try to determine what the actual problem is. By this I mean, consider a BIOS update or chipset driver update. That can often help in cases like this. An alternative is to try a different drive and see how that performs, but...

Part of this may be your refresh rate and the graphics card aren't in sync, so one may be outperforming the other, but this is more likely due to something else. You didn't give all your specs, so it's harder to tell. This could also be a function of how fast your drive is reading/writing, how...
