For anyone in the boat I am in, the solution for me was an odd one. Tried everything I could think of and all and all it ended up being a thermal paste replacement was need for the gpu. Crazy! Thanks for all who read and scratched their head in wonder.

Last night the pc ran like a dream. Today went to boot and pc would start then shut down and restart again etc. I removed the ram and reseated and the problem was resolved. Now it will not post. I removed all peripherals, optical drive, ssd and GPU. I booted the pc up with no ram and no beeps...

I recently bought a motherboard and the company sent me the wrong one. They sent me a x79 2011 socket and so far decided to just by a cpu for it. I bought a E5 2670. What I want to know is, it says it supports ECC memory but will it support non? The board I ended up getting is a Kllisre X79m2 3.0

No luck. Still nothing in the world of monitor keyboard and mouse working. Typically when you have no HDD attached, it goes right to the Bois. Typically you can do what you need to do in the bios and then push the power button down to shut down PC. I have done it many times but with no HDD...

In the beginning the AMD build was fine untill I attempted to update Nvidia drivers. That's where this all began.

Everything seems to point towards the HDD

Already did. No avail. To be honest this is the second PC that this has happened too with that HDD. I pulled it from an AMD build that got corrupted and assumed that the AMD build motherboard was on its way out. But I had the same symptoms. No peripherals working. So weird.
