Sorry guys i figured it out. I had purchased the same unit for another computer so i took it out and tried it in this new computer and sure enough, it worked. Which means the power supply i just bought for the new computer is broken.

I bought a new power supply unit, a 550W. After installing it and plugging in my power cable, the fans move extremely fast and they are very loud, but the computer itself won't turn on? maybe i missed a plug-in? im confused. because maybe my power supply is bad orr... something worse.
