Got a monitor used vga but still nothing! (I had to take gpu out and use on board graphics)

my newly build pc is booting up but there’s no signal through the hdmi into tv. I’m plugging it into the gpu not the mobo and I’ve also tried using one RAM instead of two and swapping them around (I only have two RAM slots). I’ve made sure all connection are in also. My build: msi b350m mobo 2x4...
