    Is this build good enough?

hello i am not an expert but i can say that you are choosing wrong motherboard. Z97 chipset boards are for overclocking but your processor is locked one (non k). You should choose H97 board they are same and only difference is overclocking. And i dont think a i5 is gonna bottleneck this GPU at...

    i7-4790 vs xeon E3-1246 v3

actually E3-1246 v3 has IGPU :) xeon processors with 5 and 6 at the end of model number have HD Graphics P4700 or P4600. sounds like i should go for xeon.

    i7-4790 vs xeon E3-1246 v3

Ooops actually i just didnt look closely.. 1241 dont have onboard graphics http:// but 1246 has HD p4600.. and this is not going to be a gaming pc and i dont want to spent on a gpu( i dont think i can get a decent one in 20$) thus i think 1246 will be good what u think?

    i7-4790 vs xeon E3-1246 v3

my plan was to have this build CPU: i7-4790 MOBO: ASUS h97M-plus RAM: 2X4gb ddr3 corsair vengence 1600mhz PSU: corsair cs450m 450watts but now i think i just need to change cpu to XEON... MeteorsRaining you are right. 1241 is around 16$(1000 rs) cheaper that 1246. and the difference is...

PC for web and software development. visual studio, eclipse, vmware etc. NO-GAMING

i think i will go for i7 over a xenon. if i get a 8gb ram now then will it be compatible with the new 8gb ram. actually i read that two RAMs of the same specification may not work as aspected
