How will this build run simple Steam games?

The build is OK, but change your CPU to g3258, get some aftermarket cooler(like Hyper 212 EVO), overclock it and use the rest of the money to buy R9 270/270X

If it took a long time, check you HDD for bad sectors(I use Hard Drive Sentinel - http://www.hdsentinel.com/)

This seems to be the problem with booting form USB stick. Try using other ports, and, hopefully, one of them will work. ;)

    Thermal paste not working? !!

Do not spread thermal paste, just use the line method, and inform us about the results.

    Thermal tape vs. Thermal paste

DO NOT APPLY THERMAL PASTE ON THERMAL PADS!!! JUST USE THERMAL PADS OR NON-CONDUCTIVE THERMAL PASTE!

    Thermal paste not working? !!

A question: How did you overclock to 4.3 ATM(pressure, not frequency)??? Did you mean 4.3 GHz?

    Thermal paste not working? !!

If it does not work, try using some other CPU thermal paste. If this does not help, reset your BIOS, maybe it is due to your overclock

These are probably false readings, try using HWINFO64 - http://www.hwinfo.com/download.php

100% disk usage, crazy fan speeds, stupidly high CPU usage for no reason

Open Task Manager, and see what is using your CPU. If you have an antivirus, try disabling automatic startup and restart your PC.

    High HDD usage in idle

Thank you, but this was false alert. High HDD usage stopped after 5 minutes, Kaspersky was scanning (Rootkit idle scan), even though it is outdated. Sorry, I did not intend to troll :)
