News AMD 9800X3D 'failures/deaths' Reddit megathread indicates the vast majority may be happening on ASRock motherboards

Yeah.... it's unclear how much of that is user error, how much is asrock error and how much is AMD error. Remember that it also took many months for the intel scandal to reach a point where people were certain that both intel and the mobo manufacturers were at fault. You are merely being too...

News AMD 9800X3D 'failures/deaths' Reddit megathread indicates the vast majority may be happening on ASRock motherboards

Yeah it is funny when people refuse to admit AM5 specifically has initial RAM stability problems.... but boot problems due to RAM issues is basically a nothing-burger. It's when your CPU is a ticking time bomb that might become half useless and in the event you might not be able to have it...

News AMD 9800X3D 'failures/deaths' Reddit megathread indicates the vast majority may be happening on ASRock motherboards

If the primary source is an asrock subreddit.... it tends to skew results no? This is also only happening on a specific CPU.... not two whole generations.

News President Trump wants tighter AI chip export restrictions but may face staffing shortage and other issues

That is not the primary goal though, the goal is long term national and economy security. The US tech industry has basically been farmed off and they are now too dependent on foreign factories.... this is like trying to steer a massive ship.... turning takes a long time. The AI part is just...

News ASRock issues BIOS update to address Ryzen 9 9800X3D failures, warns of 'misinformation' about failures

My first experience with Asrock was when I recently got one for a family member (5700X3D), the only complaint is the arrow on the socket was so tiny I had to doublecheck with the manual to make sure I actually was seating the CPU correctly. Not really a common brand in my country until recently...

News ASRock issues BIOS update to address Ryzen 9 9800X3D failures, warns of 'misinformation' about failures

In theory yes but I have never been able to afford anything other than noname PSU's so I really won't be able to tell you the difference personally.... and because I never had top of the line GPU's or CPU's it's never been an issue. But then also it helps to overbuy. With my 700W current PSU I...

News Framework moves into desktops, 2-in-1 laptops at Second Gen event

The only thing more annoying than an ITX mobo is an ITX case... I don't have large hands and I can barely fit them in to do anything in those tiny things. This all just seems more like a toy for very rich kids or something.

News Microsoft's ad-supported version of Office only saves to OneDrive

I am not buying that.... software in general is overpriced from the consumer pov... which eventually is the only pov that actually matters. It is irrelevant how expensive something was to make if the money does not actually exist to pay for it.... and given how Windows has become worse over the...

News ASRock issues BIOS update to address Ryzen 9 9800X3D failures, warns of 'misinformation' about failures

Memory issues are actually much more common it seems to me than they used to be..... unless I am forgetting due to past trauma or something you never needed to do a RAM-shuffle to get to the mobo properly recognizing it. In the IDE days there was the HDD-shuffle though, damn that was annoying.

News ASRock issues BIOS update to address Ryzen 9 9800X3D failures, warns of 'misinformation' about failures

You would be surprised how long hardware can last if you don't cheap out, take care of it and don't overclock it. The only internal hardware that have ever actually failed me is storage, PSU's and cheap motherboards. Never ever give in and get a cheap motherboard they ALWAYS give problems...

News Microsoft's ad-supported version of Office only saves to OneDrive

If your OS costs as much as a whole PC you are not gonna get it sold.... it will get pirated a lot though if it's a requirement for something.

News AMD 9800X3D 'failures/deaths' Reddit megathread indicates the vast majority may be happening on ASRock motherboards

That being the standard should be obvious by now, what else can happen if you every year or more times a year release a new model? HOW are you going to properly test ANYTHING.

News Intel 8th, 9th and 10th Gen processors absent from Microsoft's Windows 11 24H2 CPU support list

I already switched when Win10 came out.... only a freak motherboard southbridge + SSD bug kept me from completely switching until I finally fixed the issue. Pro-tip, never use Samsung SSD's for Linux if you can help it.... their firmware has Linux related bugs they never actually patch. I was...

News Intel 8th, 9th and 10th Gen processors absent from Microsoft's Windows 11 24H2 CPU support list

Difference is Win10 does not have a floating minimum requirements specification with alarm bells telling you your hardware is unsupported and the OS might not update anymore. At worst your drivers stop being updated but that's been happening forever anyway and nothing ever stopped working as a...
