Question What is your brand new M2 Pro / M2 Max MBP battery cycle count out of the box ?

It is not normal and not to be expected from a brand new product. Mine (M1) had 0 counts as it should be. 5 cycles means that the battery power has been already ''drained'' out entirely to count for a cycle (whether partial or continued), so I'd say your laptop is not brand new (no matter how...

Question Does CPU need to reached 100% with low FPS before deciding it's time to upgrade?

Changing resolution should mitigate the usage to some degree, nonthless the way each game takes advantage of a higher number of cores/threads varies from one to another. Is the 8700 enough for that GPU? Depends on resolution, target framerate, overall graphics quality settings (those being the...

    Question Connector port not working

Exactly, in the case of an old laptop the replacement often times is not worth it (sometimes they replace the mother) so if you're looking for an easy workaround then the adapter will work just fine.

    Question Connector port not working

I'll assume you have tried basic things like trying with a different cable (one that you know it works), drivers updated and adapters enabled, alongside optimizations like EEE and power management. In case you know for sure the port is broken then any usb 3.0 ethernet adapter will work (try to...

Question Monitor screen goes black after about 2 seconds of turning it on ?

Unless done by yourself, then you should probably get it checked by someone (could be worth it as it may be something like a capacitor issue) instead of buying a new monitor altogether. Other then that I don't think there's much else to do at this point.

Question Static Noise from back of PC

Coming out exactly from where? Try to find out what's the source of the noise by unplugging fans and setting both CPU and GPU fans to 0% so you can better hear the source of the noise. Coming out from the back it is most likely the PSU but better make sure.

Question Monitor screen goes black after about 2 seconds of turning it on ?

Could potentially be the cables, I had an issue with a VGA connection not properly rendering all colors due to a faulty cable (replaced it and now works fine). Since you've already tried it with another device and the problem persists then my suggestion would be to give it a go with the cables...

Question CPU choice for PC upgrade

As far as CPU choice, goes to say that the Ryzen 7 5700x is the best choice (the extra L1 and L2 cache are to be taken into account when gaming). As for the other options, I thought you said your friend's already got 16 GB of ram.. I would focus on the CPU first and foremost nonetheless (...

    Question OLED and G-Sync ?

Variable refresh rate (vrr) means that the tv will adjust in real time according to the framerate output of your pc resulting in less tearing and stutters. G-Sync is Nvidia's own vrr technology, same as Freesync for AMD. In the case of the lz980 it has both vrr and allm support, so the...

Question What PSU should I get?

XFX in specific requires a higher power than most other 6600xt options, somewhere in the line of 650W-750W will be just fine.

Question What is better cores and threads, or cache?

The ryzen 5 5600 seems to be your best option as it does indeed has better cache with only a slightly lower base clock which you can always OC.

Question Extreme buzzing noise from freshly installed Asus Dual Radeon RX 6700 XT ?

You're basically running stock unless you tweak it yourself, but I reckon you keep the gpu on average temps right? Sometimes random stuff like cap FPS (yes that's a thing) or turning the pc off and back on fixes it... Check to see whether the fans motion are even (more or less) could be one of...
