Turn on GSYNC in your game. When GSYNC is off and the GPU is not under that much load, such as in game menus, the FPS can run away and you get crazy high FPS (like 200-300) which can cause whine.

Sounds like you're overheating which is causing the laptop to sleep or shutdown. Download MSI Afterburner and monitor your CPU & GPU temps. You probably need to open up the laptop and blow out any dust that's accumulated.

Have you tried going into the BIOS and 'Load Defaults'? Also, after you load defaults make sure the GPU option in BIOS is set to PCIe.

Do you have a dedicated GPU (separate graphics card)? If so, then you can't install the iGPU (HD530) drivers because the system sees the dedicated GPU and ignores the iGPU.
