I swapped just a new cpu in and the system wouldn't boot. I ended up just swapping a new motherboard in as well. Unfortunately, at this point I don't have a specific answer as to what went wrong. I do know this new cpu works well in other motherboards, so it seems to be a motherboard issue...

I'm going to swap cpus and see if that changes things. If it doesn't then I'll just swap motherboards. I picked up another cpu/mb/ram today. edit: I'll post results. I'm pretty sure my cpu got too hot due to a fail heat-sink fan.
