News Intel CEO announces layoffs, restructuring, expanded return to office mandate

The Back to the Office mandate is just a disguised way to lower the cost of doing layoffs. The back to the Office will change NOTHING on the strength of their product portfolio.

News Intel CEO announces layoffs, restructuring, expanded return to office mandate

He is doing something right which is trying to focus, but he is also wrong because he doesn't focus on their strength, but on what is VITAL for Intel. When Lisa Su took over AMD, she decided to focus on compute. She knew this was AMD strength. Intel strength is not what is VITAL for Intel...

News Lip-Bu Tan's first speech as Intel CEO focuses on innovation and working with foundry customers

Sorry, but this whole strategy is Pat strategy, and they fired him for this exact same strategy. Honestly, I called that Intel downfall will be due to their fabs in 2020, and I am now more convinced than ever in 2025. They will fail and a new CEO will change nothing about it. Intel is a...

News Intel announces 18A process node has entered risk production — crucial milestone comes as company ramps to Panther Lake chips

If TSMC needs to build fabs in the USA, it is because they know they can steal business from Intel. It is not just a question of tariffs, because they could care less about tariffs since they are a monopoly. It is so obvious, I am not sure what you couldn't see...

News Intel announces 18A process node has entered risk production — crucial milestone comes as company ramps to Panther Lake chips

It doesn`t matter, they can`t package, and if you need to package, you are better using nodes done from the same semi-conductor company for QA factors, the reason TSMC is not afraid of Intel. Unless you are doing monolithic chips, Intel will never be an option in the short term.

News Intel announces 18A process node has entered risk production — crucial milestone comes as company ramps to Panther Lake chips

And none of them will deliver... because Intel can't package their chips like AMD and Nvidia need. There is a reason why TSMC is investing so much in their fabs, because they know Intel is not a threat.

News Lisa Su says Radeon RX 9070-series GPU sales are 10X higher than its predecessors — for the first week of availability

Well, in reality... they don`t... The 9070 is sold out everywhere because at the same price, it beat the hell out of the 5070 while hosting 16GB vice 12GB for the 5070.

News AMD boasts its Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is up to 12.2x faster than Lunar Lake in AI workloads

Yes and no... the problem is that the competition cost 4000$ and is not able to run on PC properly without buggy emulation. Also, as much as Apple want to brag about their ARM CPUs, the intrinsic problem is that they are ARM CPUs.

News AMD boasts its Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is up to 12.2x faster than Lunar Lake in AI workloads

"Ryzen chip consumes more than 3x the power, but fits in the same thin-and-light form factor as Lunar Lake competition." You are forgetting to say that its is also having a GPU more than 3 times bigger, and it is hosting a 16 cores CPU. The power draw is not even a matter here, but Intel...
