I'm sure this is a common question but I just can't seem to find a nice non-VGA solution for this.
I have one monitor hooked up to my gfx card HDMI port and I'm looking to purchase another monitor to extend the desktop.
Do I need a HDMI splitter for this or is there an easier way to accomplish...
Hey guys,
I was wondering if playing on 2 monitors, in the same game in co op would equal to the computer rendering two instances of the game essentially increasing the load factor by a 2.
Is this how it works or is there optimization that comes into play?
@InvalidError Thanks for the reassurance, I will invest in an aftermarket cooler and experiment with underclocking/ undervolting as needed to bring down temps.
Are the extra features of non K models something that only servers/businesses utilize, will the average joe has any use for them?
@maxalge Absolutely, I removed the old stock tim with 50% IA, and applied AS5 and temperatures still skyrocket to 90c within 30 seconds, it idles lower though at around 28-32c compared to the 36-38 stock TIM.
@TechyInAZ Thank you for your response, however, I am not overclocking, matter of fact, I am undervolting the CPU just to get it to be at reasonable temperatures.
I don't want to huge block of metal like the Hyper 212 sticking out of my case so I'll look into getting a low profile intel like...
Hey guys,
I've had the 4790k for some time now but I noticed that the K series do not have the same features as its counterpart (is this true? what features does the K series lack) I opted for the 4790k not because I want to overclock but because it had a higher stable base clock so I need not...
Then are CPU oriented tasks like video encoding, physics, and other work not nearly instantaneous. If the CPU is constantly waiting for data from dram why do we even need a processor with higher performance if it can never reach peak performance, there must be a limit to the processor speed that...
It's really bs that Intel would supply such a crap cooler and paste for stock temps, I shouldn't even have to undervolt the CPU just to get it to stay out of the 90s. If the thermal paste doesn't work (perhaps I created air bubbles during installation or uneven contact) I'll consider getting the...
I've been having trouble keeping the temps down with the stock cooler and had to undervolt, My current stable undervolt is 4.0ghz (4.4 turbo as standard) at 1.195v but under load when playing a game like watch dogs it raises to 74-78. And 95-96 in AIDA64, will replacing the thermal solution with...
@InvalidError that's a good idea, I obviously have a desktop, but you never know if windows 8 decided to use "maximum performance" it worked before which is funny (new build)
Hi guys,
My 4790k seems to be always at ~4.4ghz (looking at task manager) even at complete idle (<1% utilization)
What gives? Are the new haswells different in this regard?
Hey guys,
My idle temps are around 35-40c (normal I guess) my gb z97 sniper g1 mobo puts the vcore at 1.462 on load and with prime95 it shoots to 100c and then throttles. uefi temps start at 66c and go until 90c+.
Should I try to update the bios? maybe bad temp software?
