My brain hurtz!!

I checked in with Wallace on LinkedIn with some praise for his gear ... and reminded him not to OverClock any of the new respirators ... we could have oldies bouncing around the room !! :)

I have one but to be honest I did not noticed any improvement when paired with a SATA3 SSD - my mobo only has one M.2 slot. So I ditched it and put in a slicker EVO M.2 SSD ... noticed a BIG difference then. Hope this helps Josh. D

Honestly providing your cooler is good you can just OC the Q6600 by changing the FSB from 266 to 333 ... goes thraight to 3Ghz easily on most old systems and I would suggest a Gtx 1060 would give you a nice graphics boost. Mess around with the old cpu first ... you might be surprised. Mine ran...

Hi nanofly ... sorry for the delay. I suggest you run it setup as a 125 Watt FX-8370 4.0 GHz / 4.3 GHz not as a 220W FX-9590 4.7 GHz / 5.0 GHz. So change the voltage for the CPU to 1.3625 (approx) and the multiplier down to 20 in the BIOS.

Try downclocking it to a FX-8370E ... that is the best I can suggest. I have spent hours trying to get one I have stable ... even with a higher end cooler. Frankly get rid of it if you are a gamer. There are so many threads on these with the same problems. I love AMD ... but this particular...

The 1060 should be between 1.5 and 2 times faster at the same frame rates … if not then it is likely because other software is slowing down the cpu, or it is throttling due to thermal issues and might need the paste reapplied and the dust blown out of the cooler.

What model laptop is it ... what model TV? Are you using a VGA or HDMI cable?

I am still stuck on the cookie thing … so a third party cookie is when you do the work and someone else gets a cookie? How is this right?
