Why would you first upgrade this set of parts for less than half my budget and then do the rest later?

Am I right in assuming that the consensus preference here for the Radeon RX 6700 XT over something like a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti comes down to more VRAM and slightly better performance if we ignore ray tracing?

Pretty old. It's the original one I used for this build in 2013. And I'm only interested in a new case if there is a benefit or need. I like the simple, sleek black of my current one.

Hey everybody, I have a gaming PC with some rather old parts in need of upgrading. In my opinion, that's especially true for the CPU and motherboard. Over the years, I already added a bigger SSD and upgraded the GPU. My device is currently not eligible for Win 11 and I'd like to change that...

So, to conclude this thread: I got my MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X last Wednesday. The installation was super easy. The backplate of the Gaming X version is pretty neat - now worries of touching any contacts or putting too much pressure on certain parts. And this is an awesome graphics card! Wow...

I actually already considered buying the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G. I'm really satisfied with my current card from MSI and some reviews stated that MSI did a good job this time around, especially cooling. Any reason to go for the Gaming Z or Armor versions? Oh, and the looks don't really matter...
