Turns out Nvidia's new drivers are causing the issue and I always keep them up to date. I read that an owner of an XL2730z had the same issue and he resolved the problem by reverting the driver back to 368.81. That did the trick.

Just got a new BenQ XL2720z monitor yesterday but it's constantly flickering every minute or so AND every time I turn the monitor off, it won't remember the settings as I changed the Blur reduction to ON, contrast to 43, and RGB to 100, 98, 96. It keeps reverting back to the default settings...
