What if i buy 2400 mhz... it can clocked to 3000mhz

I have gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 motherboard

Currently, i am using crucial ballistic sport 4gb 2400mhz... i want to upgrade to 8gb... so should i sell it 4gb slot or should i buyed one more module of same. Else should i buy one single module of 8gb??? And should i move to another brand?? Which will have more performance?

MY SYSTEM IS WORKING LITTLE SLOW AND SHARP DECREASE IN FRAME RATE WHILE PLAYING... EARLIER I WAS USING CORSAIR 8GB 2400MHZ...THEN EVERYTHING WAS WORKING FINE BUT I SELL THAT DUE TO SOME REASON AND NOW I AM ONLY USING 4GB OF RAM.. AND GETTING THIS ISSUE.

I only play offline...
