It would be cheaper to upgrade. You can probably re-use the power supply and case which is a nice savings right there. It's hard or impossible to find a newer chipset (LGA1151 or AM4) mobo that still uses DDR3 ram so that's unusable and you would need a new motherboard to update your CPU. You...
