I'm somewhat confused... is the problem that the sound comes from both the headphones and the speakers when the headphones are plugged in, or that there is no sound coming from the speakers but there is sound coming from the headphones when the headphone is plugged in? The latter is normal...

Those games are not natively supported by Linux OS, as far as I know... but it is possible that those games could be run through WINE. Also, I think most Linux distros would be sufficient for gaming with, but there is a particular Linux distro known as PlayLinux which is optimized specifically...

Would it not be a better solution to just make a Virtual Machine and test the technical preview that way? I just don't see much of a point in going through the tedious process of creating an extra partition just for the technical preview.
