All Eyes On Graphics Card Shortage, Few Answers Forthcoming

Nobody wants miner cards. Crypto miners fully intend to resale the cards. Mining is a boom bust business. A month ago a 1070 made 6.00 a day in profit. Currently it is down to 1.50 and trending lower. The point to unload may be close at hand. A real problem will be when miners flood the...

Week In CPUs And Storage: Is Apple Gearing Up To Challenge Intel's Desktop CPUs?

"Geekbench 4 scores are calibrated against a baseline score of 4000 (which is the score of an Intel Core i7-6600U). Higher scores are better, with double the score indicating double the performance." Apple has a mobile CPU that is competitive against Intel's 15W TDP chip from 2 years ago...

The 670 is a much faster card. At low resolutions like 1366x768 the 950 could be faster. http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=2455&gid2=592&compare=geforce-gtx-950-2gb-vs-geforce-gtx-670

I am building my first custom gaming PC. I would like some advice on how to set up my fans.

positive air pressure ie more fans blowing in then out can let you run filters on the intake fans + prevent dust from building up inside the case. (since you know where the air/dust is going in at). Other then that air intake near the cpu/gpu can help a little.

is it safe to set custom resolution ? ----------->

Its best to set a monitor to its native resolution. That way each pixel on the monitor is displayed as it should. When you go over/under the native resolution the image is scaled to fit. you basically let software decide which pixels to drop from the 2560x1440 image to fit it into 1920x1080...

Freshly Built PC Experiencing Stutter Issues

A computer I built had stutter issues that turned out to be related to the firmware on the SSD drive. Memory issues tend to result in crashes. CPU thermal throttling can also cause random performance spikes.

thunderbolt while cool is a huge problem in terms of security - Plug n hack. Or a virus which updates the firmware of a thunderbolt device or even the thunderbolt controller firmware. Then the virus has root level access to the kernal outside of any OS/software protection.
