an r9 280 is a decently powerful gpu and needs more cpu power than any of the apus can provide. you will need a new mb and cpu to match up with your gpu. intel i5 and up, on a budget look at a 6 or 8 core amd cpu.

sorry, but a 1080 panel cant be "forced" to run 1440. a 1080 tv or monitor or phone or any kind of screen will only have 1920 horizontal by 1080 vertical pixels. you can't add more pixels by a setting in your control panel. as for your original problem, yes scaling older games that don't...

what case are you installing it in? with the case limiting what cpu coolers you can install, you can get a better response if we knew that.

its a safe temp, not ideal, but safe. all chips overclock different, my 4670k at 4ghz gets to the mid 70s after an hour of prime. at stock it was low 50s. whats your case cooling look like?

v sync is when your gpu is putting out new frames faster than your monitor can display them, if a monitor has a 60hz refresh and your gpu is putting out 80fps. Free sync allows your monitor to adjust to match a slower framerate.
