like he said, sounds really weird. i have a couple of advices: make sure that you dont have any usb connected. only mouse and keyboard. try to reset BIOs by taking the battery for fifteen minutes or so. and then try again.

maybe if you get an i3 or i5 with the hd4000 integrated graphics you could rig a cheap pc with a very good performance.
