No it has never happened without a controller in the front panel. I've updated my bios and Chipset and have yet to encounter it again so I guess I'll be back if it happens again. Thanks for the help so far.

Oh, I installed them from the website and the version was 6.07.22.037. No errors in device manager I can see.

PSU: Gigabyte 850w (GP-P850GM) that I got in July 2021 and I updated the bios last year in September.
