Question How do I remove this stuck motherboard from my case ?

It's a Dell SFF. All 6 screws have been removed. There are no other screws to remove. The heatsink, connectors, and everything on the motherboard have been removed/disconnected. The motherboard moves freely over the other screw holes except one in the corner where there is an audio jack close...

Question Will a PSU be able to cool itself if the exhaust hole in the case is smaller than the exhuast on the PSU?

My computer, a Dell prebuilt has a custom form factor power supply. I bought a power supply with the same wattage and same dimensions but upon receiving it I noticed that the exhaust is 7cm large compared to the original PSU in my case that's 5cm. Will this make my PSU overheat or cause problems...

Question How do you pull out a USB cable on a desktop with all rear USB slots being used and you can't get enough leverage to remove it?

Do you pull the USB cable out, pulling on the cable itself, damaging it every time, or remove nearly all the neighbouring USBs just to get access to that specific USB? What if it's a USB hard drive, and pulling on the cable damages the cable and causes data corruption due to a bad connnection...

Question When gripping a gaming mouse, is your arm supposed to be in the air the whole time you play video games?

With a palm grip even with a higher DPI every time you move your cursor downward the back of the mouse will pinch the skin of the heel of your palm, punishing you every time you want to look down in an FPS making only fingertip and claw grip viable which means your arm will be in the air non...

Question When gripping a gaming mouse, is your arm supposed to be in the air the whole time you play video games?

I'm new to PC gaming and I had a look at a bunch of YouTube videos on mouse grips. For all of them, it looks like you are supposed to lift your arm the whole time while you play games. If you use a palm grip for example, and you rest your wrist on the mousepad you literally can't move your...

Question Why are my 2.5" SATA hard drives automatically going to sleep ?

I'm not sure. There is no sound coming from the hard drive when it stops spinning and it takes 10 seconds to access my data again when I open a folder on the disk.

Question Why are my 2.5" SATA hard drives automatically going to sleep ?

Two of my 2.5" drives would auto sleep when directly attached to my desktop and my laptop, with hard drive sleep disabled in Windows. When playing a game, every 10 minutes the game would stutter. The other drive would spin up and spin down every 9 minutes. All you could hear was it spinning up...

Question Why are my 2.5" SATA hard drives automatically going to sleep ?

    1) There's no such option in the BIOS. 2) It never worked correctly, since I got it it's been like this. Maybe all 2.5" hard drives have an auto sleep mode that can't be turned off, meaning it's hard coded into the drive itself? All 3.5" drives I have spin 24/7.

Question Why are my 2.5" SATA hard drives automatically going to sleep ?

I changed it to Never now (before it was on 0) and after 10 minutes it turns off again. 1) No. 2) USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device is the SetMSpace enclosure. The other enclosure completely stopped working.

Question Why are my 2.5" SATA hard drives automatically going to sleep ?

    I have three 2.5" hard drives: Western Digital Black 500GB 7200RPM 2.5" 9.5mm Seagate Barracuda 2TB 5400RPM 2.5" 7mm Samsung SpinPoint 640GB 5400RPM 2.5" 9.5mm I connected them with a SetMSpace USB C to USB 3 hard drive enclosure. It's USB attached SCSI. The first auto sleeps after 10...

Question How are hard drive manufacturers going to deal with data rot on SSDs?

The thing is these companies have billions of dollars for research. Flash memory SSDs have been around since 1989. It's 2023 and SSDs still have the same problems they had since then. Is this seriously the best they could come up with? Imagine if you had a very boring book sitting on your shelf...

Question How are hard drive manufacturers going to deal with data rot on SSDs?

Personally I wouldn't have the time to create checksums for every file I store on an SSD. Once data rot occurs, it's irreversible. In my opinion I don't want to play that game. If I don't power on my SSD in 6 months, say I forget it in a drawer, and my data goes bad, that's unacceptable to me...

Question How are hard drive manufacturers going to deal with data rot on SSDs?

A typical SSD can retain data for 5 years unpowered, and experience data rot in as little as 6 months due to electron leakage. Yet a hard drive can retain data indefinitely as long it works. There are hard drives from the 80s that still work. Hard drives don't have limited reads and writes. Are...

Yes I changed the setting for the controller and the USB3 root hub too.
