ahh okay i see! what motherboard would you recommend if i were to abandon the z87? my parts include: Intel Core i5 4590k, MSI GeForce GT 740, G.Skill RipJaws (2x4gb), Corsair cx600, Samsung 850 EVO 120gb ssd, and a rosewill galaxy 01 case. thank you very much by the way!!!

Currently building a desktop with the z87-a motherboard and when trying to run a test boot, no display come up on my monitor. Fans were working, led lights were on, but there was no display and for some reason the "cpu_led" was red. it is supposed to be green? is building it on carpet very risky...
