    Someone ought to add that, "highest speed supported by both memory kits," is another way of saying, "the slower (max) speed of both memory modules."

    Memory Upgrade Suggestion Needed

    Using 32-bit Windows? If so, you won't benefit from a memory upgrade. You're only using 3 Gb of your 4 Gb of RAM as it is. If your OS can address more than 4 Gb, you could go either way. 2x4Gb of same brand memory might be preferable, to leave more room and to avoid compatibility issues.
