Yes, 2 OCZ Core V2 30GB in RAID 0 on an Adaptec raid card. The performance is awesome!!! These drives aren't really too expensive, I got them for $50 each from Newegg on sale a while ago. I plan on getting 2 more when the price gets even lower or on ebay to have 4 in RAID 0.

What about the Gigabyte UD5? I guess it doesn't fall in the 300+ category at $288 from Newegg, but stil... It has all the benefits of the EX-58-Extreme minus the gigantic NB cooler, but also allows use of an x8 RAID card in the open ended slot (I have one installed) and if you get straight...

Although this is interesting, numbers in Watts might be a better measure of power consumption. I personally won't switch to SSDs until they are reasonably priced with more than 160GB.

Just went to the Dell site, there is no option in the configuration of the M6400 for more than 4 GB of memory. Otherwise, quite a laptop!
