Which is better: UHD display at WQHD or WQHD at native resolution?

Thanks everyone for your feedback. We just ordered a BenQ SW2700PT WQHD monitor. I really liked the write up for that one here on Tom's Hardware. I'll post back with my experiences in a few days! Merry Christmas to you all :)

Which is better: UHD display at WQHD or WQHD at native resolution?

Thanks ak47jar3d and Suzuki for your replies! I guess I'd have to see an UHD screen running at that WQHD res to know for sure.

Which is better: UHD display at WQHD or WQHD at native resolution?

Hello all, I believe 3840 x 2160 would be too high for me in terms of text readability on a 27 - 28" screen. However, 2560 x 1440 seems about right for that size; however, some UHD screens sell for the price of some WQHD screens. So I'm wondering how well do some UHD screens do interpolation...

    Is 2560 x 1440 best for a 27" screen?

Thanks so much Suzuki for that in-depth reply! I agree with you completely about companies trying to make 4K tv's look so much better. I was in Best Buy and they were playing what looked like a 720p VERY muddy signal through coaxial cable into their HDTV's, but a different, high-res one through...

    Is 2560 x 1440 best for a 27" screen?

Thanks xapoc! Thank you also for the links. Have you found HP to be good for quality control?

    Is 2560 x 1440 best for a 27" screen?

Thanks bliq for taking the time to respond! The PG279Q I believe is the IPS version of that monitor. I'm sure it's good, but unfortunately is $1200 in my area of the world! :)

    Gigabyte X99 Gaming 5 or UD5?

Thanks, TheMentalist! I wound up going with the Gaming 5. It's been working fine for over a year, although to be honest, I don't have much to compare it to! Ironically, I haven't done any gaming on the Gaming 5... yet. :)

    Is 2560 x 1440 best for a 27" screen?

Hi everyone, I'm looking to get my first LCD monitor; coming from a 10 year-old CRT. (I know it sounds crazy, as my PC is actually a 2014 hexa-core used for video editing and cg animation). I haven't really had the need to upgrade until now; I've been using a HDTV for a secondary monitor in...

    Gigabyte X99 Gaming 5 or UD5?

Hi there, Just wondering if the UD5 is more roomy for mounting more than 2 gpus than the Gaming 5 is. Also, other than Wifi (which I don't need) and the post code LED, are there other benefits that would make the UD5 preferable? From photos online, the UD5 appears to be almost identical in...

5930k and Noctua NH-U14S + good air flow case

Thank you, Sir! I'll look into the NZXT Phantom. There seems to be a lot of "Phantoms," although the original came with 2 x 120mm fans on the side with an option for an additional 200mm fan on the side, a 120mm in the rear, and a 200mm in the top. The new Phantom 530 scraps the side and top...

5930k and Noctua NH-U14S + good air flow case

Thank you again for your help. I won't be overclocking more than 4.0 gHz, if that, as it seems power consumption goes through the roof past that. My primary use of the PC would be as a video editing and CGI modelling/rendering workstation. In regards to your second suggestion, I think a case...

5930k and Noctua NH-U14S + good air flow case

Hi there, Just wondering if the NH-U14S would be an adequate cooler for the 5930k, I was originally considering the Corsair H110, but not sure about compatiblity with cases, or risk of leaks. I'd also really appreciate if anyone can offer advice on good air flow cases. I'm not looking for...
