    Fallout New Vegas Performance Issues

I thought it was my graphics drivers initially since I was a few versions old. After an update to 10.9 and installing the new application profiles, there was no noticeable change in performance. It stays at 60fps for most of the game, but entering a town or approaching certain areas/people, it...

AVADirect's W860CU: Mobility Radeon HD 5870 Vs. GeForce GTX 285M

The fourth page has the tables in the wrong places. The Nvidia analysis follows the ATI chart, while the analysis on the ATI parts follows the Nvidia chart.

BioShock 2 PC Has Widescreen Bug; Fix Coming

mousemonkey16:10 = 1680 x 1050 & 16:9 = 1600 x 900. 16:10 is taller (more vertical pixels) than 16:9 at the same width. At the same height, 16:9 is wider than 16:10. Essentially, 16:10 is more square and less wide.

BioShock 2 PC Has Widescreen Bug; Fix Coming

r4tb4st4rdI didn't experience any of the problems you are talking about here and I've also beaten the game. I had some texture issues back when I was still fiddling with the resolution, but those went away and have yet to resurface. No audio issues other than lack of EAX options available.

BioShock 2 PC Has Widescreen Bug; Fix Coming

The first time I fired the game up, it was on my Eyefinity rig (3x1 landscape, 5760x1200) and it was just awful. The amount of vertical cutoff/compression made it unplayable. The pics only show how the fix works with 16:9 and 16:10, but I hope that wider aspects are supported as well. The first...

Tom's Readers Get the Eyefinity Treatment

I added a Radeon HD 5970 to my i7 920 rig connected to a 24" Dell flanked by two 24" Gateways for 5760x1200 goodness. Even with the i7 OC'ed and the awesomeness of the 5970, I'm stuck below 30fps on Crysis Warhead (Mainstream settings). Still, I kill L4D2 (120fps, maxed) with very much playable...

How the HECK do I set up Eyefinity?

Late to the party, but I only just got my Eyefinity setup configured and running, also using a 5970 (Sapphire, not Diamond). My center monitor is a Dell E248WFP flanked by a pair of Gateway FHD2401 displays. Both have the same screen sizes, but the Dell sits lower by default; I had a...

    Gateway Launches Athlon-powered Netbook

DailyTech has an article on this, too: link The machine will come with ATI Radeon X1270 graphics, 250GB HDD, and up to 2GB of RAM with power coming from a 6-cell battery good for up to five hours. Five hours (3 or so under load) isn't bad for a netbook, but I'd like more from a 6-cell battery...

    Gateway Launches Athlon-powered Netbook

Is the lone requirement for a netbook these days simply no optical drive and a slow processor? Designation aside, it should be interesting to see how an Athlon performs in the ultra-cheap sector. The last AMD netbook I remember was the OLPC XO-1 (running a 400 MHz Geode). Any ideas what kind of...

QOTD: Which is Your Next PMP: iPod, Zune, Other?

I had used a Creative Zen Jukebox 40GB for a while until it got stolen a few years back. I replaced it with an 20GB iPod 4G and began using the iPod line of players almost exclusively. I recently got a refurb'ed Zune 30 (not the best unit for comparison, admittedly), but have been fairly...

LG GGW-H20L Blu Ray/HD-DVD won't read any discs! please help!

letmein2005, I have the same drive and had very much the same problem you describe when I first tried using it. I had been using an MSI K9N SLI-f V2 board with an Athlon 64 X2 and Vista x64. Anything beyond a standard DVD would cause the computer to hang and any program running to crash. It...
