I had same issue with Lenovo n27p monitor. Its not specified anywhere when I bought it. HDMI 1 only supports lower resolutions (control panel display settings get limited as well in windows), while HDMI 2 goes up to 4k. I tried different cables but all works with HDMI2 but not with HDMI1 Kind...
