Alienware M17X R4 Black screen while gaming. Overheating?

I have an alienware m17x r4 that, after between 20 seconds and 10 mins of gaming the display goes black and is non-responsive. I used open hardware monitor to check the temps and it shut down after about 30 seconds of Unigine Heaven, but it was only at 65 degrees. Here is a screenshot of the...

    is this build worth it?

A 970 will work fine on a 600w? It is only a 145w card and nVidia recommends a 500w PSU. a 430w would be pushing it, a 500w will be enough, and a 600w will be plenty for a 970. Corsairs CX power supplies aren't the greatest, but it will still be plenty for that. On another note, that PC with a...

Which GPU pairs better with the AMD A8-7600? The GTX750 Ti or the R7 250

I would go with a 750 or other higher end discrete gpu... With the dual graphics you will have some games that dont support crossfire, and in the games that do you will still be getting better performance with the 750 over r7 + 250.

IMO ram is ram, as long as you get 8gb it won't really matter what brand it is in gaming. Get corsair if you would like it, it will work exactly the same. That is just the cheapest kit for sale currently.

If you are interested in overclocking then you need to get a K series CPU and a z97 motherboard. If you don't want to overclock, get an h97 motherboard that is not micro atx... I reccommend getting one by gigabyte, asus, asrock, or msi.
