Normal gpu's can atleast be reused, while mining spesific gpus goes to the landfill when they are not profitable anymore.

I am pretty sure the card would have held up fine for many years. And, how many years do you think you would have used it before you bought a new one? Probably not that many years.. I still have a gtx760 in perfectly working condition thats been used alot. And its old to.. But still works...

How can they compare an old mining card with old paste, pads and full of dust, with a new clean card? There is only one reason for that, to make it seem as the mining has degraded the card. Everyone knows that a hot card performs wors then a cooler card.. This was a terrible comparison..

I think the motherboard can support up to 75w combined in the pci slots. But the 960 card has a 6 pin connector. Does it get all its power from that connector or does it still uses power from the pci slot? Is 75w a normal limit on pci slots? :unsure:

Its a Mist psu, not sure of the exact model name. It got a few years on its back also.

Its probably 8+ years. But as i said the batteries are around 1 year old and holda the power fine when disconnected from the ups, or when the ups is online and looses ac power. It holds several minutes with my pc + 3 monitor + modem etc. So in that case it works fine. But when its turned off...

Even if its the GPU or the CPU its way to hot. Something must be off.. My Asus GTX 1080 idles around 40-45 degre C, without the fans running, while gaming its around 65c. My i7 7700k idles around 30-40 and is at 60-65 while gaming. If your pc is that hot, you definetly need to fix that first.. :-)

@Greeko85 What malware software do you recommend? I think i will order a new psu anyways, as the one i got is very old. Just to be sure. Is there other things that could cause this? I think its weird that it says its out of memory when it used only halv of the vram avaleble..

@Calvin7 I checked my bios verson and its 1205,so I already have the newest drivers. What about the theory with the PSU? Regarding the flasing screen, signal drop out/in etc? I will test an older nvidia driver later this evening.

Hi, I had random framedrops with my old GPU, a Gainward GTX 1050. It could just drop to 10-20 FPS and back to 60-70. After i upgraded to a Asus GTX 1080 the drops stopped. I think maybe the lack of ram on the 1050 was the problem, but i cant say for sure though. What GPU do you have?
