Need help deciding on new GPU, CPU (and PSU?)

    1. Personally i'd go with the GTX 970 as it's more cost effective & your talking about a 10% performance difference. If money was not an issue, sure, go 980. It's a very similar argument from previous generations GTX 6/770 & GTX 6/780 2. The i5-2500k is still a good processor, they haven't made...

    New graphics card questions

Performance wise, you should just about double your frames per second (FPS). Source: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_750_Ti/25.html As to fitting, you'll need to take out ye olde measuring tape & compare the dimensions of your case where the card will go. I'm assuming...

Looking to upgrade my graphics card

    R9 290 requires a 550W PSU with 31 Amps (372W) on the 12v rail & 1x 6-pin + 1x 8-pin PCI-E power connectors Ultra LSP650 has 38 Amps (456W) on the 12v rail & 2x 6-pin PCI-E power connectors. With no 6+2-pin PCI-E power connector. You'd have to use the 8-pin to 4-pin power cable adapter...

    psu help needed

    GTX 960 requires a 400W PSU with 20 Amps (240W) on the 12v rail & 1x 6-pin PCI-E power connector EVGA 500W/500B have 40 Amps (480W) on the 12v rail & 2x 6+2-pin PCI-E connectors. So your 500W PSU meets your power requirements.

Is theZALMAN ZM500-GV 500w good for my build?

GTX 970 requires a 500W PSU with 28 Amps (336W) on the 12v rail & 2x 6-pin PCI-E power connectors The ZALMAN ZM500-GV 500w has 40 Amps (456W) on the 12v rail & 2x 6+2-pin PCI-E power connectors. It meets your power requirements, although Zalman aren't up there in PSU brands i'd prefer. Plus...

GTX 570 EVGA HD 2.5GB on 500W PSU

GTX 570 requires a 550W PSU with 35 Amps (420W) on the 12v rail & 2 x 6 pin-PCIE power connectors CIT aren't a brand i'm familiar with. And given the age of the system that this generic PSU shipped with, i assume, it likely wont be good enough to meet the requirements TBH.

Should I ditch my Corsair CX600?

The CX series are okay if your on a budget. And it's fine for your current power needs. I understand your query, as these units components are usually built to last at least until the warranty ends. Of course you may find it goes on much longer, if you have maintained it well. If you just...

    R9 270 psu

That PSU is perfectly fine for what your hooking up to it. R9 270 requires 24 Amps on the 12v rail , a 500W PSU minimum & 1x 6-pin PCIE It has a very healthy 480W/40amps on the 12v rail + 1x 6-pin PCIE, which powers your card etc... Just don't do any serious overclocking, as keep in mind...

will the this power supply support 2 way sli?

Yes it's more than enough. The suggested rated unit to have for 3x GTX 770 is 1000-1100W. That Antec High Current Pro Platinum 1300W looks top notch. If you want to save some money & not skimp on quality, the EVGA Supernova G2 series are excellent as well, made by Super Flower who are up...

Need a graphics card for high quality, but low resolution

For such a low resolution, you may as well get a bang for buck R9 270X. Enjoy it, and replace it when you like with no remorse of how much it cost. If you think you may upgrade your display in the near future, then sure, go with a GTX 780 or R9 290.

When the R9 290 is installed & detected, the motherboard should disable the intergrated graphics by default.
