    motherboard hardware debugging

Neither that message nor this one has any bearing on the original post!! How can you relate what that message has in it to something you obviously don't know anything about? This is exactly the kind of screwball crap I see on these forums all the time. You people who THINK you know anything...

    motherboard hardware debugging

I've posted a couple times regarding laptop motherboard repair. There are a few places that advertise this service near me but neither were able to follow through with their claims. Also, the reponses I've gotten from people here were rude and condescending. Are there any REAL tech experts here...

    laptops are just junk

I'd hardly rate a line and a half of question as a tirade. I don't have a bad personal experience with a laptop. I spend a lot of time repairing them, though, and I read tons of posts on many different forums. There seems to me to be good reason for my question. And what's with the mumbo jumbo...

Is it just me or are laptops just piles of garbage pawned off as hightech electronics that these big companies are making tons of money on???

    hp ze5700 pavilion notebook

I put the 2.8 ghz celeron on a board in a working system and it booted right up!! I downloaded a cpu stress test program and let it run all night last night with no errors reported. I think that rules out the processor. Has anyone ever had luck with just cleaning off the old heat transfer...

    hp ze5700 pavilion notebook

Well, It doesn't look as though this subject has generated much interest, but I'm going ahead and finish up what I started. I read the manual and tore apart the machine. When I removed the 4 screws that hold the processor heat sink in place it did not come off right away. So I pried against it...

    hp ze5700 pavilion notebook

Ok, glad to hear from someone. The hidden screw did the trick on the hard drive. Thanks. It was not mentioned in the ze5200 manual. Am I wrong in thinking that these HP's are excessively difficult to repair with all the reprogramming involved in replacing hardware? Have you read the repair...

    hp ze5700 pavilion notebook

Hi, I am having problems with this hp laptop. I can't get much help from hp online chat. They can't even find the correct service manual for this model. It freezes at the hp logo screen, can't access bios, can't boot to safe mode, can't do any of the supposed diagnostics built in to this laptop...

    PSU causing component failure?

This is an IBM NetVista all in one PC. 2179-71u. It has a proprietary psu. As far as I can tell no one else makes a replacement . There are two options for replacement. original 110W non-pfc or 115W PFC. It came to me in a shipment of other salvage PC's and I like the all in one design, so I...

    PSU causing component failure?

I'm not sure I'm having a problem. But I am rebuilding an all in one pc made by IBM. It is a 633 celeron cpu with 256 MB ram @66 MB fsb. The power supply is 110W. It came without a hard drive. I installed an 8 gb, set it up for XP home and installed. It would keep hanging at a certain point...
