OK.. got my cooler, fitted it and run Prime 95. From the temps above I've dropped (:D) to cpu 46 idle 64 full load, NB is 75 at full load (still hot I know.. but I fitted my NB air cooler instead of the waterblock and new paste.. not much diff.. admittedly its a tight sqeeze with my cpu cooler...

Have you tested your ram yet? Try one stick at a time and repeat your steps.

Yep.. I totally agree, but the cooler was the first thing I checked and it's absolutely solid.. there's no give there at all... :/

cpatel1987.. You're the first person I've seen who has a preference for coating the cooler. :)

you'll have to (thoroughly) clean both the cpu and cooler of the old stuff then put a SMALL blob (no more than 5mm in diameter) in the center of the cpu (arctic silver 5 is very good) and the pressure of the cooler will spread the tim out...

If you are certain that it's not a heat issue then it's possible it's bad ram,I've had this, or possibly even a driver conflict, seen any blue? Or maybe even voltage/power problems. However it really does sound like a heat issue, I'm suffering a few probs of my own atm in that regard :/
