[SOLVED] How many drives on a single HBA or SFF 8087 port using SAS expanders before individual hard drives cannot reach their maximum speeds?

Idk if this belongs here but here goes. Sorry if this question is silly. I'm kind of a networking and storage noob. So I recently got interested in storage servers and learned about SAS expanders and stuff. I didn't know that SAS expanders were a thing, and I thought that if you wanted to...

[SOLVED] Anyone else face these bugs?

So I installed the Windows 11 isnider preview yesterday, and I've found a few problems here and there. Jsyk, I'm running it on a Pentium P6200 with 6GB ram, without a TPM and SecureBoot, and on a Legacy system. To install the insider preview, I made a Win11 ISO with UUPdump, and replaced the...

[SOLVED] Windows shows display as 8 bit, display adapter says it's 32 bit and HWinfo says it;s 6 bit- what's going on here?

This is an old laptop from around 2011, with a pentium p6200 and no dedicated GPU, and I was fiddling around in the display settings when I saw that differenet programs show the built in display as having different bit depths. Windows display properties shows the bit depth is 8 bit . View...

Question Recovering data off an external hard drive not working

I have tried everything I can think of, and nothing seems to work. If this was mission critical data, I'd have a backup in the first place, and if I didn't have a backup at all, I'd have sent it directly to a data recovery company withought doing anything myself. But since it's not mission...

Question Recovering data off an external hard drive not working

I did, and it doesn't show any SMART status at all. CrystalDiskInfo and HWinfo show nothing at all. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/3166/v1CKh0.png

Question Recovering data off an external hard drive not working

I verified that EaseUS was working fine by scanning a USB thumb drive, and it showed up all the deleted files. Nevertheless, I uninstalled it, deleted any files left in my system drive, and then installed it again, but the same thing keeps happening.

Question Recovering data off an external hard drive not working

Hi. So I've been trying to recover some data off of this external USB hard drive. It’s a SONY 1TB External USB hard drive, (specs here) I would have taken this to a professional data recovery service, but the data on this HDD is more of a 'nice to have again' kind of data than something very...

    [SOLVED] No signal onboard

Okay so if you can't POST even after doing a cmos reset you've got faulty or incompatible hardware on your hands. Maybe try the basic pc troubleshooting steps first before you narrow it down to the cpu. Try one stick of ram at a time. Try different ram slots. Maybe try reseating the cpu...

Question PC Freezes While Gaming, Forcing Hard Shut-Down

Okay try deleting the old drivers and then reinstall them again and see if anything gets fixed. Maybe try reseating the GPU. Do you monitor your CPU usage, temps, GPU temps and RAM usage during gaming? Do that and see if you find anything suspicious. Doing a fresh windows install will...

[SOLVED] No signal coming from computer after M.2 switch (and same after switching back)

Okay have you tested the monitor? Maybe try a different port on the monitor/ different port on the GPU/ different HDMI or DisplayPort cable. Maybe try another monitor or TV if you have one, just to see that it's not the monitor that's broken. If it's not the monitor, try clearning the CMOS and...

    [SOLVED] The pc keeps crashing.

Okay first of all let me say that your specs confuse me. You have an X570 aorus elite wifi motherboard ( which is quite expensive) and you've put a first generation ryzen 4 core CPU in it. You have an expensive motherboard for a cheap CPU, yet you have a GT 1030, a GPU which is really bad for...

[SOLVED] Compatibility error with MSI b350m bazooka and Ryzen 5 5600x

B350 doesn't support zen3 CPUs. Even with a BIOS update. It will support zen 2 (ryzen 3000 series) CPUs though. Although AsRock came up with some beta BIOSes to support zen 3 on b350, they are a hit and miss thing from what I've read. See if you can return your motherboard. And in the future...

    [SOLVED] Random crashes/unable to post

If the system isn't POSTing at all now, try resetting the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then putting it back again. See whether you're getting a POST. Try to get into the BIOS by mashing f12 or delete or whatever the BIOS key is for your motherboard. Try to boot from...

[SOLVED] How to control Molex fans speed?

Chances are that your motherboard fan header won't be able to handle all the molex fans daisy chained to it. Are the cables coming out of your fans molex only? If it's molex as well as 3 pin or 4 pin pwm, you could buy a fan hub like this...
