    Hard Disks

It's possible to run fdisk from the windows run command, just be certain you format the correct drive :P Also, you didn't mention the brand of drives, but assuming the newer 80GB HD is faster than your old 20GB you might want to use Norton Ghost to copy over your windows partition to the new...

    Poor RAID Performance

I have a two disk RAID 0 array that doesn't seem to be performing very well, and was wondering if anyone might have some hints on whether or not I miconfigured it, or what else I might be able to do to get better performance out of it? Setup: 1.2 GHz Athlon 256MB RAM A7V133 with an integrated...

    ATI TV Wonder and WinXP?

i think i had the same problem with guide+ downloading. for some reason if i open guide+ first, (while the t.v. is off) it would work, but if i tried opening it while the t.v. was already open it would give me like 2-3 error message stacked up on each other saying access violation or some crap...

    Hump in Cord

Does anyone know what the hump in a monitor cord near the connector is for? I've taken one apart, and it's just a cylinder that goes around the cord. I'm guessing it's used to reduce EMI, but I don't know the specifics, and don't know what the hump is called. Anyone know?

Advice on choice of graphic card

ATI AIW & VIA chipset might cause a problem. I had a horrible time trying to get my system to work correctly, however I have a Radeon AIW, so perhaps it won't be an issue you'll run into.. I'd check through some of the other posts here that have to do with the AIW, check via's webpage, and see...

    Via & Radeon AIW

I've got the t.v tuner actually working under DirectX 7, full functionality without crashing :) even the pausing works, which suprised me. I can do all those really challenging things that the system hated before, like clicking on the start menu, opening explorer, resizing explorer etc...

    Via & Radeon AIW

Kodiak, I'm happy to hear that there is at least one person that got an ATI on an Asus A7V to work. I'm running an 800mhz Athlon on my A7V, and I got a new ATA100 hard drive to take advantage of the onboard controller. If i can't get this stupid thing to work my alternative was to trade my...

    Via & Radeon AIW

Does anyone own an AIW Radeon on a via chipset (A7V motherboard?) and actually got it to work without crashing on WindowsME? I've checked this forum, and another forum at via's webpage and there are plenty of people asking about it, but I haven't seen any posts where someone successfully got...

    Experiences with IBM 75GXP?

I'm running an A7V with an IBM 75GXP Deskstar 45GB and that's the only device on this system that hasn't given me any problems. 45GB is a good size though, partition or put up with 32kb pages. (16gb is the biggest you can get with 8kb pages)

    40-pin, 80-conductor

I'm new to the ATA100 thing, and was wondering if I could put a DVD player (Creative Labs "Encore") on the same cable as my new 45GB IBM Deskstar (ata100 7200rpm) I got it OEM so I didn't get any directions or warnings about doing something like this The fact that the deskstar has 40 pins but...

    AIW Radeon problem with Thunderbird?

I was reading through this thread, and I'm running into the same problems that MichaelP is running into, as far as installing the via drivers and the system crashing. Have you found a work-around for that? Somehow I managed to get the miniport drivers to install (i gave up on the 4-in-1 and...
