Speeds keep dropping through new router when WIRED

Thanks folks. It wasn't near any heat sources, and to be honest the WIFI speeds weren't that great to begin with, so I just got rid of the problem and took it back. I hooked up an older router (a TPLINK with only N speeds) for the time being, and it's good enough for now.

Speeds keep dropping through new router when WIRED

Hey all, So I just updated my modem to a TP-Link Archer C2. For some reason ever since I've got it - at one point through the day my DL speeds will drop down by 1/2 and stay there. This is actually when wired straight from the router to the PC. As soon as I reboot the router, speeds go...

Best Gaming CPUs For The Money: January 2012 (Archive)

I'm currently running 2 x 280x crossfire with an 8320 OC'd to 4.2 (I had it at 4.4 but brought it back a bit). It's running of a 990fx Sabertooth MB. My ram is only 1333 (2 x8) but seem to have had trouble when running it at 1600. Is there any point to upgrading to a i5 4690k w/ perhaps a z97...

Wireless Keyboard and mouse for gaming

Hey all, I'm wondering if mice and keyboards have been improved to the point where we can cut the cords for gaming. I play on the couch in front of a big screen and don't want cables running all over the floor, so have been using a Logitech mx510 mouse and K350 wireless keyboard. They're...

    Recommend a VDSL/ADSL2+ modem

Hey all, I'm about to upgrade to a faster VDSL service through ACANAC here in Toronto. Up until last month they forced you to buy from them but now for whatever reason you can buy your own. I've been searching around and have found precious few VDSL/ADSL2+ modems for sale. The one they're...

Can power cycling a modem screw up a network?

Hey all - it sounds like a stupid question, however at our internet went down over the weekend at work so I tried power cycling the modem and router (didn't work). It was still down this morning and the tech's at Bell are blaming ME for power cycling the modem saying "the network is set up in a...

    Will this NZXT 1200w PSU be enough for 3 x 280x ?

just an update. I ended up going with the seasonic 1250 PSU... unfortunately when it hit 1100 w it started clicking and the power draw would bounce around from 900 to 1200 and back again... whether this WS a defective unit or it just couldn't handle large power I'm not sure. I ended up...

Is there any reason an AMD sempron processor won't work with windows 8.1?

Never mind - I've just gone ahead and ordered it. Thanks again for your help.

Is there any reason an AMD sempron processor won't work with windows 8.1?

Lol - I did NOT mean to pick that as the solution. The build guides I've been reading all suggest win 7 with their builds. By " THEY " I mean the various build suggestions I've read. Does it matter? I'm just wondering if it will be an issue - thanks.

Is there any reason an AMD sempron processor won't work with windows 8.1?

Hey all, just like the above says - I'm building a coin mining rig and everyone recommends a sempron processor to save money - however they assume I'm using win 7. Any problems with 8.1? It's for this motherboard: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157262 The above board...

    Will this NZXT 1200w PSU be enough for 3 x 280x ?

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I've had the Nzxt hale 90 powering my gaming rig for the last year and have been very happy with it - so if 1200watts is enough, I think I'll go for the NZXT. Thanks for your quick responses, I appreciate the input from both of you!
