Static electricity problem with computer-in-desk build

Hello all, I wanted to post an update on here to help others potentially. Yesterday I took my computer desk apart. I removed the metal NXZT phantom plate back casing I used to mount the motherboard on; I wasn't crazy about aesthetically, and more importantly, I think it may have been part of the...

Static electricity problem with computer-in-desk build

Hey everyone, Over winter break, I decided to build a customer computer desk out of pinewood. My computer is actually inside of the desk; similar to those nice ones you see on Google, the desk houses my motherboard, GPU, PSU, etc. so that I no longer need a tower. It's covered overtop with...

Is my graphics card finally shot?

Hey all, Haven't been around here lately. But last night my PC started to have some serious issues. I'm majoring in IT and been building comps for many years now but just want to re-assure my thinking on this that my graphics card is finally shot. I went outside to work on my truck last night...

    1080P or 1440P with 144Hz build

I would shoot for a solid framerate comp at 1080p. I was gonna build a 1440p system and it's just a real oddball resolution; not too many good monitors out there either (reasonably priced) that can do the response rate you want for gaming.

    Radeon HD7950 crashing?

Hey TH community, I am a religious and seasoned overclocker (as well as a person majoring in IT) and normally I don't feel the need to ask for help with my rig. But this time I'm a bit confused as to what my PC is doing as of lately and wanted to know what other's might think is going on with my...

    Upgrading and Steamroller future-proofing

Honestly if you're looking for the latest and greatest you may want to go to Intel. AMD's future with the Steamroller is very grim. Last I looked, Steamroller was delayed till 2014 and many engineers at AMD were laid off. I was gonna wait for it myself but I just bought the FX8350. I plan on...

    Which processor will suit me??

I have the FX8350 and I can speak very highly of it. Overclocked it's one hell of a CPU. Although it's not a game changer by an means and doesn't quiet stand up to the i7's, it's a fantastic CPU. Personally I think it's slightly more future proof than the i5 due to the 8 cores. More and more...

    FX-8320 Temperatures and Vcore

Hey Chrisafp, thanks for sharing that HWinfo64. Honestly I've never heard of that one and I just checked it out, it's very nice! I've been iffy about hwmonitor lately, I don't think it gives the best readings on my current build. And yea I think the temps also look good on there as well.

    Which mouse to choose?

On a side note I wouldn't worry about ridiculously high DPI. I can't play any shooters on my 23" screen without turning it down to 1200DPI or so.

Any one else noticed BB new return policy?

Thats crap. Honestly I'm sad to say it because I actually like them but I can see Best Buy going out of business in the foreseeable future. Limited selection of computer components these days, desperate to make sales on TVs/entertainment equipment, poor competitive prices, lack of a real...

    Temperature of computer parts

honestly your temperatures are absolutely fine and right where they should be except for your CPU... it's actually the opposite problem it's not too hot but instead too cold! 19C is 66F. Is your room only 66 degrees? You would have to have some pretty decent water cooling to be hitting that low...

Considering Upgrading PSU; Should I Bother?

110% sounds like heat/airflow issues more than the PSU. Like last guy said, Seasonic is one of the best, if not the best names in PSUs. I see you got a mini ITX build, those a VERY SMALL to get any real airflow. If you build this as a 24/7 system you should have gone with a normal computer...
