The laptop lid function is controlled by a magnet under the laptop cover near the lid, it seems like the magnet is getting affected by something thus activating its function which in this case was "sleep" before you changed it, the "do nothing" function in spite of its name actually does...

It could be your resolution or/and Refresh rate. Try running the game in windowed mode and check if that fixes if it does then change your resolution and/or Refresh Rate.

Check your disk heath and speed using crystal disk info and post and screenshot also see what is using the disk from task manager. Try Disabling Prefetch, Superfetch, Search Indexing and cortana, see if that helps...

It could be that your NIC (Network Interface Card) might have been damaged or displaced, try connecting an external WiFi adapter to your laptop and check how it works then...

You can change the number of cores to be used in msconfig (msconfig --> boot --> advanced options --> number of processors), however beware that it could cause some instability and the problem might be difficult to fix....

It could be that the charger is delivering less power than what is need for the battery to charge while in use. Is the battery charging when the laptop is turned off?

It is possible that your Network Card is sitting loose inside your laptop (or the connecting wires are loose) or it could have been damaged, did you try using any external WiFi adapters to ensure that the problem is the Internal Network Card. As for the noise and lag it seems like the hard disk...
