Have you went into startup config utility to stop old ATI stuff from trying to load at startup? Try: start>run>type in MSCONFIG >hit enter or OK, select startup tab at top and check for any ATI stuff with a "check" in the boxes at left. If any ATI stuff is checked, uncheck>click "apply", then...
