ARL-H uses Alchemist iGPU while Lunar Lake uses Battlemage iGPU. But ARL is designed to be paired with dGPU while LNL is for thin and light ultrabooks/2 in 1 with just iGPU.
yah. All phones are fast enough. We obsess over benchmarks. There is nothing we do with it that needs Nvme speeds in a phone. Even UFS is way faster than any workloads on a phone.
All Intel CEOs since Andy Grove were failures. One has to blame the Intel board for hiring Krazinich after so many leaders quit Intel at that time. Was that Otellini's fault.
Anyway not sure what impressed this company that they hired Krazinich as CEO. its flabbergasting for sure. His conduct...
This is thin and light ultra portable laptop. 32GB is sufficient. That is more than what you can get with Macbook Air. If you need 64GB laptop wait for Arrow Lake laptops or Strix Point ones. There are options.
Its good to see desperation from Intel. This means they will get LNL out as soon as they can.
Looking at how many laptops from OEMs for Oryon, this is an existential moment for x86.
Intel's problem is execution. News around Raptor Lake Refresh issues are irrelevant as desktop sales dont matter that much. Intel's issue is in DC. They are behind the 8th ball with ARM servers taking over DC and Nvidia being near monopoly in DC GPU which is taking most of cloud spend at this point.
We have to look at device price. If its priced at M3 level we have to compare to M3. If its as expensive as M3 Pro then it should be compared to that. Plus its not just performance, but efficiency need to be seen as well. I am hoping its out in retail and we have independent benchmarks run.
I have no doubt that X Elite will be great. But what is this with all controlled benchmarking. Just release the damn thing and let the reviewers benchmark the laptops. That said its expected that these laptops will be in MBP price range. Then its irrelevant.
I think the Arrow Lake CPU that is reviewed is for desktop and so just have 64EU. Mobile one should be higher than 128 EU for MTL as its going to be on a smaller node(rumored to be 3nm class from TSMC which is either N3B or N3E). That said mobile Arrow lake is probably Q1 2025(CES release) and...
Unfortunately Google stopped this project and they never launched it in bay area where they are based out off :-( Still I am not sure what is the use case for 20Gbps internet.
